With the opening of our new offices in Indianapolis comes all new venues that SmarTravel gets to attend.

Last night our SmarTravel team was at the Indiana Pacers game.  Where the Pacers held off the Utah Jazz, 104-99.  Darren Collison scored a season-high 25 as the Pacers (17-7) once again bounced back from a loss to avoid a losing streak.

While there was much to cheer for as Mathieu Aubin of the Cincinnati Cyclones helped his team to win their third straight game against the South Carolina Stingrays (3-2), this Cyclone's fan left with more to be happy about.  This past Saturday, SmarTravel gave away a hockey stick to one lucky winner.  We are always excited to give away prizes!

For two weeks beginning on Wednesday, November 2, 2001 through Wednesday, November16, 2011, SmarTravel will be at the Aronoff Center!  This timeframe coincides with the first two weeks of the Broadway in Cincinnati run of "Wicked."  Winner of 35 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, "Wicked" is Broadway's biggest blockbuster, a cultural phenomenon, and was just named, "the defining musical of the decade" by The New York Times.

While at the Aronoff Center, SmarTravel staff will be welcoming entries for a trip to New York and 4 Tickets to any Broadway show!

That 1908 Tin Pan Alley song, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," is not only a common cheer during the seventh inning stretch, but it's a reality for forty individuals who normally can't afford to go to a Cincinnati Reds' ball game.  Cincinnati-based travel company, SmarTravel - owned and operated by David Wise, has teamed up with the Cincinnati Reds in donating 40 tickets to the East Butler County YMCA.

As part of the 2011 Commissioner's Community Initiative, these tickets will be given to family and children who are unable to normally afford to go to the games.  The game that they will be able to attend is the September 16th game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

What is the Tan Photo Contest?  It's an annual contest to find the best photos taken while on a TAN vacation.

What is at stake?  First place wins airfare for two (up to $1000) and one week's accommodations at any TAN location.  Second place will be awarded two Excess Inventory vacations of their choice and third place gets one Excess Inventory vacation of their choice.  Winners will be chosen by September 30, 2011.

What kind of photos is TAN looking for?  You can take a look at last year's submissions at TANPhotoContest.com to see what clients have submitted in the past.  TAN is looking for photos of clients enjoying their vacations - it could be an action shot, or a special moment during your vacation (a note: TAN likes people in the photos, not just nature scenes!). Look for the story within your photos.  They like to use these memories captured on film as features on the TAN website, emails, and other issues of TANLines.

What are the rules and regulations?  Please keep your submissions to five photos per account number.  Submit photos taken on a TAN vacation between January 1, 2010, and August 31, 2011, that you have not previously submitted.  Photos must be submitted by midnight EST on August 31, 2011.
